Questions about the quay boat lift

How much weight can a DutchBoatLift lift?

The quay boat lift comes in three lifting classes: 750 kg, 1,000 kg and 1,200 kg, fitted with an electric winch as standard. For heavier boats from 1,500 to 8,000 kg, we supply the floating boat lift with HDPE tanks operated by air pressure; we calculate the required buoyancy and the structure for each project. If you are unsure about the weight of your vessel, we will come and measure the situation with you in person.

Which boat lift best suits my sloop or boat?

For boats and sloops up to and including 1,200 kg at a fixed bank or quay wall, the quay boat lift is the ideal solution. For heavier boats from 1,500 to 8,000 kg, or for open moorings, choose the floating boat lift. If you also want to protect your boat from wind and weather, the lift can be combined with a boathouse.

What does my mooring need for a boat lift?

A stable and suitable mooring is important for good operation and a long service life. With a quay boat lift, the bank revetment must be strong enough to absorb the forces of the lift; depending on the situation, a tie-back anchor may be needed, for example. For installation we look at the condition and construction of the bank revetment, the water depth, the normal and fluctuating water level, the accessibility of the location, the space available for installation and the options for fixing and anchoring. As the owner, you are in principle responsible for a sound bank revetment.

How long do installation and assembly take?

Installing a standard boat lift takes half a day on average and is carried out expertly by our own installation team from Grou. A complete boathouse or a larger custom structure takes more time. We agree the planning and the necessary preparations with you in advance.

What is the delivery time for a boat lift?

Thanks to our own production facility in Grou and ample stock, our standard quay and floating boat lifts can be delivered within around 1 week. For custom work, the delivery time depends on the chosen system, the dimensions, any custom parts and our current planning. Because we make and assemble many parts ourselves, we can plan flexibly. Installation on site takes half a day on average and is carried out by our own installation team.

What warranty does the boat lift come with?

Every DutchBoatLift boat lift comes with a standard 3-year warranty on both construction and operation. The warranty covers defects that are demonstrably the result of a material or manufacturing fault. Damage caused by, for example, incorrect use, collision, overloading, insufficient maintenance, modifications by third parties, an unsound base or bank revetment, or storms is not automatically covered. The exact warranty conditions are set out in our general terms and conditions.

Where are the boat lifts produced?

Our DutchBoatLift boat lifts are 100% Dutch-made. We develop, produce and assemble all systems at our own facility in Grou (Friesland), using materials such as aluminium, galvanised steel, stainless steel bolts and HDPE floats.
